Negotiating Fees and RADS
Among one of the most essential elements in sustaining resident well-being is maintaining a way of being associated with to their family members and the neighborhood as a whole. Modern technology is progressively participating in an essential role in supplying ways to keep in touch.
In The United States there more than 1.4 million individuals staying in aged care homes and it is approximated that fifty percent of them never receive visitors. Fortunately this isn’t the scenario in Australia, since we a community are a lot more connected to the lives of our seniors.
We highly urge our residents family members to come and visit as frequently as possible at whatever time is practical. Having said that we know that as a result of certain issues, like geographical and time restrictions, it is challenging for some people to go to their loved ones as frequently as they ‘d like to.
Thankfully there are a variety of methods that you can remain as an active component of your loved ones’ life:
Writing letters is becoming a lost artform in today’s society but can be a good way to stay in touch with loved ones. Our residents absolutely love receiving letters and even more so replying to them. A fantastic idea is to get some of the grandchildren to become their pen pal and get them to regularly send letters, personal photos and artworks through the post.
A large number of our residents love to chat on the phone and it is the perfect way to stay in the loop with everything that is happening at home or with the family. Being able to hear a loved ones voice becomes very important to them since they no longer regularly see them.
Websites or internet applications such as Facetime and Skype are a great way to continue face to face contact with family and friends, even when they are on the other side of the world. It is a fantastic way to stay connected and is very easy to use – even for those for are technologically challenged!
For the savvy residents, Facebook messages is a great way to keep in contact with relatives close and far. Create family group chats so it is always a family reunion and it feels like nothing ever changed.
If you are lucky enough to live close by it is very important to keep your loved ones involved in everything you can including celebrations, events and birthdays. At Help at Hand we highly encourage our residents to try and spend the most time possible with their friends and family, both within our facilities and outside in the wider community.
There are times when urgent respite is necessary, perhaps after an operation or illness. This service is here to get your family member back on their feet. With our network, we can help find a solution to fit your requirements.

After careful consideration and due diligence and once your decision has been made we will confirm with the aged care home that a placement is required where your loved one will either be put on a wait list or, if a place is available, then move straight in.
